The dependence of Georgian wine on the Russian market is growing stronger. According to data from Geostat for January-February, Russia's share of the wine export basket has increased to 69.2%, up from 60.4% during the same period in 2022.

Meanwhile, wine export figures to the EU have decreased, with only $3.814 million dollars worth of wine exported in the first two months of 2023, compared to $4.998 million during the same period last year. There has also been a decline in the markets of Poland and Kazakhstan.

The top wine export markets for January-February 2023 are as follows:

Russia - $23.88 million

Ukraine - $1.75 million

Poland - $1.72 million

China - $1.72 million

Kazakhstan - $1.164 million

USA - $0.798 million

Germany - $0.653 million

Latvia - $0.570 million

Belarus - $0.387 million

United Kingdom - $0.333 million

According to Geostat Georgian wine worth $34.5 million was exported in the first two months of the year, representing a 3.9% increase from the previous year.
