As part of his visit to Rome, Italy, Georgia’s Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Davit Songulashvili, will participate in the 44th session of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Conference and deliver a speech. A meeting is also scheduled with FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu.

The conference serves as a platform where ministers and senior officials from FAO member countries share perspectives on current challenges in the field and explore avenues for collaboration to address issues in agriculture and rural development.

The 44th FAO Conference, attended by representatives from all 194 member states and around 50 ministers, will focus on reviewing the current state of agrifood systems and discussing future cooperation strategies. Several thematic panels will also be held.

Minister Songulashvili is accompanied on this official visit by Deputy Minister Lasha Dolidze.
