The U.S. Republican Party candidate Donald Trump has won the presidential election. He currently has 276 electoral college votes, which is enough for victory, as reported by CNN.

His opponent, Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris, received 219 electoral college votes.

Trump secured victory in all swing states, which was quite unexpected. Analysts had predicted a tough competition between the candidates in these states.

The Republican Party also won the Senate elections, now controlling the Senate and leading in the House of Representatives races.

The inauguration of the 47th president of the United States will take place on January 25, 2025.
