“The main cause of division in our society is the huge amount of lies spread by the so-called opposition in Georgia on various issues,” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said on the “Open Air” program.
As the head of government noted, it is important for everyone to act responsibly, speak the truth to society, and seek not to sow hatred but to promote relations that will contribute to the unity of society.
“As for sovereignty, national unity and division, when we talk about these issues, it is very important that those who wish to be involved in political or public processes base their actions and conduct on the truth. People pursuing political interests may be tempted to lie in order to convince society of something, and they may try to do so. The main cause of division in our society is the huge amount of lies spread by the so-called opposition in Georgia on various issues. A huge amount of lies is being spread, and it is precisely these lies, which they constantly sow, that cause the division of society. All of this is entirely imposed from outside. This is not unique to Georgia. I often recall a 10-minute video address by Robert Fico, the Prime Minister of Slovakia, which he recorded following the assassination attempt against him. In it, he talks about what is happening in Slovakia, what external forces are doing to Slovakia and Slovak society, how they impose hatred, and so on. Exactly the same thing is happening in our country.
