At a plenary session, the Parliament of Georgia elected four new members to the National Bank Council.

The President of Georgia nominated Vakhtang Burkiashvili, Otar Shamugia, Nino Jeladze, and Levan Dzneladze for the four vacant positions in the National Bank Council.

The deputies approved all four candidates by a majority vote.

As the Speaker of Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, stated after the vote, it is important for the National Bank to continue its work with a full composition.

"For more than a year and a half, due to the sabotage of former President Zurabishvili, we were unable to fully staff the National Bank Council, and it had to operate with five members instead of nine. It is important that, thanks to the parliamentary elections on October 26 and the presidential elections, we managed to overcome the sabotage, and now the National Bank will be able to function in full composition," - the Speaker of Parliament said.
