Former U.S. President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, according to a statement released by Biden's press secretary on Sunday, May 18.

"Last week, President Joe Biden underwent an examination after a nodule was found in the prostate following the appearance of urinary symptoms," the statement said. "On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, with metastases to the bones."

According to the press secretary, the 82-year-old Biden and his family are exploring treatment options with doctors. U.S. President Donald Trump has already expressed his support.
